Serum is an essential nutrient in the process of cell culture and plays an important role in improving the growth state of cells. The choice of serum bottle determines whether the serum can be stored well and maintain sterility.
Serum refers to the pale yellow transparent liquid separated from plasma after fibrinogen and some coagulation factors are removed after blood coagulation, or refers to the plasma from which fibrinogen has been removed. Generally, the storage temperature is -5°C to -20°C. At present, the main material of serum bottles on the market is PET. Although glass can be used repeatedly, its cleaning and sterilization process is cumbersome and easy to break. Therefore, PET raw materials with obvious performance advantages have gradually become the first choice for serum bottles. PET raw materials have the following characteristics:
1. Transparency: PET material has high transparency, can block ultraviolet rays, and has good gloss. The transparent bottle body is more conducive to observing the capacity of the serum bottle in the bottle. 2. Mechanical properties: The impact strength of PET is 3 to 5 times that of other films, and the folding resistance is good. 3. Corrosion resistance: oil resistance, fat resistance, dilute acid, dilute alkali, and most solvents. 4. Low temperature resistance: The embrittlement temperature of PET is -70 °C, and it still has a certain toughness at -30 °C. 5. Barrier properties: low gas and water vapor permeability, and excellent gas barrier, water, oil and odor properties. 6. Safety: non-toxic, tasteless, good hygiene and safety, can be directly used in food packaging. The low temperature resistance, transparency and barrier properties of PET raw materials make it a good raw material for serum bottle production. Between glass and PET, scientific research institutions and pharmaceutical companies are also more inclined to PET raw materials.
